Black Adam is a 2022 American superhero film based on the DC character of the same name and produced by New Line Cinema, DC Films, Seven Bucks Productions, and FlintPicture Company. And distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is a spin-off of Shazam! (2019) and the 11th film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Adam Sztickell and the writing team of Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani.
Teth Adam received the powers of powerful gods in prehistoric Kahndaq. After employing his abilities for vengeance, he is captured and transformed into Black Adam. Nearly 5,000 years later, Black Adam has evolved from a real person to a story and a legend. Now that he’s free, the Justice Society, composed of Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone, challenges his unique brand of retributive justice.
